Susan G. Bornstein MD

Susan G. Bornstein grew up in Louisville, KY and is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree with Honors from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. Upon completion of her internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh Magee Women's Hospital, she returned home to Louisville. She practiced general OBGYN from 1990-2002, then Gynecology only from 2002-2019, leaving clinical medicine upon obtaining a Master's in Public Health, Healthcare Management and Policy, from the Univeristy of Michigan. 

Dr. Bornstein maintains continuous certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a member of and Past President of the Greater Louisville Medical Society, a member of and Delegate to the Kentucky Medical Association, and a past member of the Board of the Kentucky Physicians Political Action Committee.  She served on the board of the Greater Louisville Health Enterprises Network and has served on and been the chairperson of numerous committees of both GLMS and KMA. She is a graduate of the Leadership Louisville class of 2003.

In 2014, Dr. Bornstein's practice acheived recognition as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology (COEMIG) designee. She was voted a Top Doc by Louisville Magazine in 2016 and 2017.

A strong advocate of medical education, Dr. Bornstein has been on the clinical teaching faculty of the University of Louisville Department of OB/GYN for over 20 years. She hopes to translate her extensive experience educating patients and medical students to helping legislators and their constituents to better understand the goals and consequences of proposed and enacted healthcare policies.
